The Bush, My LoverThe campfire gleams resistance Through gum boughs 'lorn and lonely The still night wraps Macquarie; To dalliance I give over The loves of earth grow olden And for her starlit beauty, They curse her desert places Who may have heard the meeting For some have travelled over And some have followed after And if her droughts are bitter, And since among love's blisses The winds of dawn are roving Till last red stars are lighted Will Ogilvie Back To Top Of Page |
