Normally I head a piece of verse with a bit of information about it, however, in this case it is at the end. So read the verse first and then the explanation!!! The Mentally Disturbed Shower© June 2000 - Ric Raftis Things are different in the bush Now my shower runs exactly like this But I have my suspicions of the problem A response from a lady called Willow
This piece of verse is a light hearted look of what can only be described as a serious illness. Bi Polar Disorder (formerly known as Manic Depression) affects around 1 in 50 people. Whilst television and the press have given a lot of coverage to Depression in recent times, very little has been mentioned about this disorder. People affected can cycle between extreme highs and extreme lows and everything in between. Whilst medication in the form of Lithium and other drugs is used in attempting to stabilise moods, bi polars also deal in a bit of self medication as well such as alchohol, cigarettes etc. If you would like more information on Bi Polar disorder, then visit the Australian Bi Polar site "Fyrenyce".
