“AN ACTRESS FOR THE HARD TIMES”.
She saw a variety of theatres, ever played a special role, never grand in her manner, her make up less than flash. She gave always all required…never wayward to control, seldom if ever found wanting, rough, with flair and dash.
Born in ‘Aussie’ at Port Kembla… some say Wollongong, most ignored all her potential, so discarded her post haste. Only one called “Evo” persisted, confident she did belong, she was rugged and forgiving, in emergence saw no waste.
Vince Wardell and John Lysaght, ones to broker her debut, her mentor, the ever present “Evo”, her progress to guage. They sought all prime opposition, in performance to review, in roles of adversity she triumphed…now ready for the stage.
A beloved player in the action, words flung in staccato verse, a reliance steadfastly portrayed, through battles lost or won. None could ask more in support, as a role shifts bad to worse, she’s a winner undisputed…a warrior belle…our Owen Gun.
