          “Why me…why bloody me?”

So, you’ve told the world, you’re ‘in the family way’,
not content with one… you say you’re having three!
“Not sure whose” you said, “ but someone has to pay”…
I ask, “Why am I the bunny…bloody hell...why me?”

So you’ve considered, I’d say, you’ve done your sums,
about child support…the pros and cons, of family tree.
Those band members save me, are just a mob of ‘bums’,
I’m the only one, with money, but bloody hell, why me!

Our lead singer is a ‘junkie’, the drummer is a ‘slacker’,
brain deficient, bass, lead, rhythm…all those other three.
Each dole bludges…too lazy, to rise up off his ‘clacker’,
I’m fair on keyboard, hold a job…but hell, why is it me?

Time to rethink, ‘Sunshine’…another you must choose,
I’m proven sterile as a eunuch, teenage mumps you see,
I have full accreditation, so now, I most cordially refuse,
I’ll sit back and ponder, who will ask, “Why bloody me?”

hey Bernie,

I have heard that the late Billy Thorpe has fathered about 37 children. That is if you listen to the mothers. He did sow a few wild oats in those heady days of R&R. But most of the girls were delighted, at the time, to have his undivided attention, even if it was just for one night. Now, with the wonders of DNA, things are more fair to all parties. Funny thing though, all the kids were girls.

Thanks for sharing.
