I won't disturb Irene...I'll just share the darkness a while....

SAD MELODY IN BLUE".

All around a soft night wind is sighing,
a misty rain shields starlight from sight.
Alone with only a stillness surrounding,
Gazing at nothing, staring at the night.

A sad ballad, a faint hint of odd melody,
near formed midst confusion in the head.
Strange remnants of past songs of rapture,
lingering from a romance long since dead.

Fleeting visions from treasured memories,
dimmed by time, banished from true sight,
In solitude bring forth that ghost of music,
a blues ballad, silent to others in the night.

The soft melody brings forth tears of sadness,
for the unknown lyrics, none shall ever sing.
Tears shed midst one's solitude of reflection,
the tears such songs in darkness often bring.

Lovely poem Bernie - and portrayed the scene very well!!

Don't you just find it so nice sitting alone in the dark? I find it a great time for unwinding and thinking - not that I do it often enough, but really enjoy it when I do!!!
