Fragile Spirit (c) Manfred Vijars - 2006
She's manifest most everywhere as each day I behold light’s sharp slivers of breaking dawn, encased in wings of gold. In glory Morning breaks, and then in Her aftermath the growth of Day like rising flame on a welcome warming hearth. The possibilities this day holds to all who share our land - Ahh, come with me and see what’s freely given by Her hand.
Cool rainforest’s rustling, and water's luffing fall, the song of birds, a whip-bird cracks, more sad, more sweet than all; the man-made melodies; as they're a world away from me - I'm content to be immersed where pristine sanity prevails. Pristine and fragile – yes, where even I intrude. I often seek 'Her' here; in my restive interlude.
In stark contrast, reflecting on the world I left outside, where discontent and mayhem and indifference abide. The measure of success is gain. Accumulate and win! Consume for show, a nibble here, the rest goes in the bin. Our former precious waterways - the pathways of our soul are now sewers clogged with detris oozing foulness over all!
A magpie’s chortle calls me back, reminds me of my ties; ahh, would that you could see the World through this romantic's eyes. The colours in a sunset, grand, how all is hushed and still, the fingers of her crimson rays bless valley and the hill. But how this tender land of ours, is in dire need of repair Oh, Fragile Spirit are we mired in the sunset of despair? ---

morning Manfred,
(I'm half way through the book) Despair? never! I had to bring out my dictionary...'detris'.. the closest I could find was 'detritus'..any disintegrated material, debris.
Unfortunately, we live in a 'what's in it for me' society. This could be why I hate having to go shopping. I don't 'shop'. I go where I have to and buy what I need and go home. Now I have a disabled sticker for my car I can park close to the exits and get out fast.
Thanks for sharing.

G'day Manfred, 'The world we leave outside' is definately a tragic domain and the door to sanity and restoration is about to slam shut...The other reality is that the respite agency will also soon reluctantly close its doors..." pristine and fragile...yes, where even I intrude " another perspective too few appreciate... This is a seriously good write old Mate... The spoken message derived from this should be delivered where ever and when ever opportunity arises... Not so much as 'keeping the bastards honest'...More in the order of waking the bastards up!... Bernie...

Hi Zondrae, hope you're doing well and I am with you on that shopping rubbish! Fancy, shopping is treated like an Olympic sport - You are correct about detritus (my bad) I'll adjust the piece for the extra silly-bill (thanks for picking that up). Thanks Irene and James - I'll see you this weekend James? Yes Bernie, reverence and respect are mostly found in the dictionary these days ... EVERYONE knows SHOPPING is more important as it fuels our economy - and the Economy is King! ... Cheers, Manfred.

morning Manfred,
I was not trying to pick you up on an error, I was making sure I understood the meaning correctly. Hope you are travelling well. Everyone has been so quiet lately. I thought we may have all gone into hibernation. I don't like Winter.

Great work Manfred,
That sentiment rings true. The last stanza, especially for me, as I sometimes have driven to a quiet spot to watch the sun set. (even here in Tamworth it's becoming business and supermarket driven)
And Zondrae, it's cold!!!, there's snow on the hills just to the south today. I'll take my lined jacket off to go to bed.
Cheers
Tom
