"FRIDAY'S CHILD".
[Any Day's Child...Every Day's victim].

Friday's child, born loving and giving
soon turned into the cynic unforgiving.
Once so trusting, by intolerance reviled,
to survival and its status quo, reconciled.

Friday's child, born one prone to weep,
now sows not the seeds that others reap.
He stands aside for none, mourns for few.
expects due respect and collects his due.

Friday's child, this world shapes his way,
to less forgiving, more cynical, day by day.
Seems rendered indifferent to his brothers,
suspects one day differs not from all others.

Bernie
Certainly are a lot of innocent children who grow up as described because of circumstances - very definitely victims of society!
But lucky are those who are able to remain loving, giving, trusting and caring of others despite what life throws at them - a lot of that ability comes from the lessons and strengths they learn from their parents as children.
