Merely a thought...and a piece of poetry posted here because
it's not bush verse...definately have no wish to fire up any
serious religious debate...
                                Bernie.

There are the many things tangible yet unexplained,
and sometimes it appears very little is new to the world,
even though form may have evolved…and the non
believer ponders…‘Does the world evolve, destruct,
to then perhaps recycle?’

       “ THE GREAT DIVIDE”

A speck within the universe, one almost self effacing,
oft’ left barren, with but some amoebic genesis intact.
Cycles perhaps repeated, amoeba to the atom tracing,
in sands of millenniums, humanity’s tragedy to enact.

Mankind’s legacy, confusion, in remnants of the past,
viewed, vaunted tabulations, wisdom’s agenda for life.
Statutes, to civilizations, decadence insures never last,
the inspired  proffered translates as manifest for strife.

Interpretation and revelation, often offered as discrete,
unrestricted, in essence, may by convenience converge.
A multitude of translators, yet their script is incomplete,
inadequate, should that last amoeba, decline to resurge.

morning Bernard,

I make no secret that I am a Church going believer. However, my mind is not closed. One (that is this one) needs only to look up at the night sky, to have the ideas you express creep into the recesses of the thought process.  In my mind this does not exclude the omnipotence of a creator. He may have designed the whole thing to go on and on and on. We mortals may well be just an experiment of His. I read a si-fi story where the beings on the face of the planet were referred to as 'fleas'. Surely fleas cannot be expected to understand what is in the plan of the dog breeder/trainer.

There we go, politics and religion again....dear, dear. Mother would be upset. Thanks for stirring.

'Afternoon Zondrae,
Fleas, Aha...always wondered what we really were...
Hope there is not the ultimate giant economy sized Baygon spray can handy
up topside...
Guess as well, I'll always wonder if all the lifeless planets out there were once like earth but were eventually 'burnt out', in life and resource, by the human experiment...as to accountability...that's the big ultimate question...
Suppose all life is a gamble...it may well be wise to bet each way...
Wasn't stirring...just looked up at the night skies as well,
Cheers Mate, I just keep looking as long as I'm allowed...
                                                                                                                                      Bernie.

Evening Bernie,
A bit late seeing this, but I have been otherwise distracted lately.

I tend to be with Zondrae on this. I agree that this is not the forum for religious debate, which I don't think ever gets anywhere. Mostly that results in "superior" winners and disgruntled losers.

However, a couple of questions to ponder:

1) I like the line "...decadence insures never last". Have you ever really wondered why?

2) What if there really is the 'big can of Baygon' after all, (or something like it), what are you going to do about it?

Cheers
Tom.

G'day Tom,
I'm resigned to my destination...that's one advantage,
belivers may only have the assumption they will go elsewhere.
There is also the posibility the bus might stop with the funeral directors.
Having noted this, the Baygon factor doesn't bother me overmuch...
what do you propose to do about it? All fleas are equal in Baygon's eyes.
As to the decadence, very popular at times and when
the devotees concentrate on being decadent to the exclusion of all else
things start to unravel...sort of a cult syndrome...lot of that around as well.

Anyway old Mate, while you're here, post some poetry...
that's what it's about...we need more bush poets on this bush poetry
site...not just the two or three who take up the pen to break the monotony
of my unmetered 'stirring'...

The other is a tired old debate and you adequately
summed up the likely inconclusive result anyway...
I don't have any issues with faith or fidelity in any case...respect both.
                                     Cheers old Mate,
                                                              Bernie.
[Hope your distractions were not of a serious nature...]
