The Blackened Billy was announced the morning that I competed in the heats and my recollection of who the winners were is a little hazy; someone else may be able to help with these.

Outside of the bush poetry awards Manfred Vijars picked up first in the TSA songwriters awards in the lyrics only section with “The Saddle By the Door”

Thankyou Zondrae

It is an achievement which I am quite proud of. Not only that, it is an honour to see my name alongside the greats who have managed to win this competition in the past.

Hi John
Congratulations on your win. Great to see your name there also - are you going to post your poem on the site for us to read? Would love to read it.

Andy has posted the results/links to results on the ABPA website - they are definitely on the forum under Bush Poetry Events, but I think some of those are linked to other sites/pages with the different comp results.

I do not have a copy with me at the moment, I will try to remember to have it with me tomorrow and will post then.

G'day All

I am able to post words sooner than expected. I have found an old version of the poem on an SD card that I have with me. I have edited this to the most current words and have posted in the poetry section.

Regards

Thanks John,
I am keen to read it. Dan and Amanda were here this morning and Dan asked about the poem. Was it a new one or one he should be familiar with? I said I'd get back to him shortly. We are getting excited. Their new baby is due in about 4-5 weeks. (SSSHHH don't tell anyone, It's a boy.) Ok I'm off to read your poem.

G'day Zondrae

"The Fence Off" is a relatively new poem, written in July last year.
