Ah I have your attention.. good!
The topic for this week is
LAUGHTER
It is a 'do-with-it-what-you-will' type of topic. (I can't complain because it is one that I put into the suggestion box.)
We had a roll up of 13 people this morning. 4 new guests who all offered a poem. I had one of our regulars, who didn't do her homework, read our Thereses' poem.

You have got me cranking Zondrea, this has got another one that has been rolling around in my head for sometime, down on..............well..... written. just scribbled it down and then typed it up, but here we go.
Laughter
(c) Ross Magnay 6/2/08
I've been waiting over 50 years to hear the sound he makes, see the shining eyes and little teeth and feel the heart he breaks, broken not from fear or sadness but a heart that busts with pride, for when my little grandson laughs the world must stand aside.
There is no other sound in life could even close compare, when I hear the peels of laughter from my grandson everywhere. So if I should die this evening I just hope for ever after, wherever they may send me I can hear my grandson's laughter.

full marks for being first, Ross, I haven't even started to think on it yet. I have, however, finished two other poems today that have been lying around for a while. We had a great turn out at 'group' this morning. Four new people turned up. I'll take my tape recorder when I'm walking tomorrow - just in case the muse strikes.

Therese, The topic for the meet this Wednesday was Mr Organic. Your poem was a good interpretation of the topic and received well. Not a punishment at all. We all like to have the practice of getting up in front of an Audience. We have a lectern and if we don't get inspired or have time to write our own, it is always good to have a poem to fall back on. Next Wed I will take along Ross's 'Laughter' for a backup poem. We are delighted that people from such far and wide locations are contributing and inspired to write on our weekly 'homework' topic. Thank you for sharing.

I am honoured Zondrea, if you use it let me know how it is recieved please. I have scribbled down a "Mr Organic" which I will type up and post later, it is not the same as your "dream", but more along those lines, in other words I think it would appeal to the younger readers.

G'day Zondrea,
Here's my "Mr Organic"
“MR ORGANIC”
© Ross Magnay 8/2/08
He wears a very tidy coat, of very finest wool, and though he never eats at all, his belly’s always full. And he never uses chemicals or soap or aftershave, and he is oh so fearless , yes he’s very, very brave.
He stands and guards his vegetables to keep away the pests, yes he stands there through the day and night and never ever rests. He will guard the rows of cabbages and peas and beans and leeks, But Mr “I’m organic,” well he never ever speaks.
And though you may not know him, he is in a lot of books, He stands there oh so quietly and looks and looks and looks. He looks at all the vegies that are planted in a row, But he’s really not a person, he's just an old scarecrow!

~ laughter ~
many years ago, some friends and i were coming home, in traffic, from the coast we'd braved the saturday shoppers, to buy some puppets, sesame street ones, were best
the cookie monster, was my brothers choice my boyfriend, he chose ernie ... you know, berts mate my friend and I, we worked them with no voice amazing, the expressions we'd create
the traffic stopped and started, it was hot frazzled nerves, of drivers, we could see so we targeted, with puppets, the tots their parents smiled, as they watched my friend and me
the look on childrens faces, was delight with big wide eyes, they would laugh and squeal they'd clap their hands, and point at the sight helplessly laughing, we were struggling on two wheels
a belly laughs fantastic, so they say with tears streaming, and mouth open wide they recommend, you have one every day though don't advise you try it, while you ride

Hullo all PPs ! ( that's Tonys way of saying passionate poets) Well; what can i say ? Yet another amazing two hours. Absolutely amazingly talented people we have in our illustrious group ! Also we have two new members ; one in WA and one NT ! How good is that ? Both Therese and Ross emailed their homework 'laughter' in , which was read out by some of our PPs and very well received . Maybe Zondrae could forward this on to our new members ? I am happy to add them to our group list . Welcome back Jill ( our playwright ) and Sue ( our ocean swimmer )! We missed you ! Well; the voting was tight as usual but we have a winner . (of the weekly paddle pop stick)Mind you anyone of 3 or 4 PPs could have taken the money. All up we had 13 attend today , that's not counting our PPs who are on the road or living interstate. Our group total now is over twenty !!!! (claiming the widest spread group in Australia) nb; posted by Zondrae on behalf of Tony, our convenor.

zondrae. I have sent poems off but am not sure where they are going.I have had not replies. Noel This weeks poem
You Can Do It.
There's an old old saying thats been round for quite a spell, Its message is quite simple “If worth doing, Do it well.” It makes you stop and think about, the things we do each day Did we do it right first up, 9or was there another way.
There's nothing in this world than man can not achieve All the skills that's needed, is to truly just believe God give us daily challenges, sometimes the bar is high Expects from us an answer, and that answer isn't “Why”
How often have we thought that the mountains is too high And wished we were a little bird, and had some wings to fly Accept the task before you, and attack it step by step. Believing you can do it is what gives you extra pep.
Think first before you do it,with an optimistic view Set goals above your limits, like trying something new. Step outside your comfort zone, explore boundaries far beyond The realm that lays before you is like a magic wand.
Take a look at Noah and the task GOD set for him He really had no other choice, the old man couldn't swim God said, You can do it Mate, I'll show you what to do And when she's on the slip-rails, You can load them two by two
Taking that first little step, is the reason to believe That any task that lays before us, is a reason to achieve Persistence and resilience, is what lights that inner strength And fills us with the knowledge, to climb a rope of any length. Noel Causer ©
