" Storm Waters".
Long dried grains erode,
stain darkly, a tepid flow.
Staccato bursts arrayed,
as a windy gunner fires.
Thundering the volley,
lightning, spews flame.
Harken, a torrent calls,
muddy depths outflank.
The Monsoon Gods smite,
relentless ranks attack.
Mother Earth recoils…
torn asunder, dissolves.
Macabre kaleidoscopes,
stark fragmented images.
Garish reflected waters,
to where vanished land?
The phantom barrage,
alters range coordinates.
Then, aerial flares expire,
a dark dankness descends.
Waters, creeping sinister,
midst night's camouflage.
Monsoon's hoards march,
laying wastage, to the earth.
