The search is on for the State's best spoken word poet.
Speak, scream, howl, whisper or sing your original poem to a live audience at the Logan open age heat of the Australian Poetry Slam on Saturday 19 September. Poetry Slams are electric live events where contestants have two minutes at the mic to impress judges who are randomly selected from the audience.

Before you hit the stage, sharpen your words at a free workshop with Slammaster David “Ghostboy” Stavanger. Workshops are designed to introduce budding slammers to this unique form of performance poetry, and help you find your voice! Heat winners get to slug it out at the State Finals in Brisbane in October and the Queensland champs will head to the Sydney Opera House to throw down their words as they battle for the National Title and $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Logan Heat When Sat 19 Sep, 4pm (sign up 3.30pm) Where Logan North Library Sports Dr & Springwood Rd, Underwood FREE no bookings required
Workshops Adults workshop 10am-12noon Youth workshop (12-18yrs) 1pm-3pm FREE bookings 3412 4140
