G'day Ric...
The screen shots look absolutely lovely on your monitor, I'll bet everyone wishes they looked the same on theirs. It's not what it looks like on yours that matters to old Zondrae when she's out on the back porch peddaling away trying to raise windows. It's what it looks like on hers, and mine, and James, and Babe, and the whole bloody crew near enough, once windows has been raised. And from all apparent it's not conducive with good veiwing. There could well be a scenario where other monitors won't accept the resolution that the site is now in.

There has to be something quite different about it compared to the last site; that was no trouble to anyone, or someone would have said so over the years. So what is different about the way it's been set up, that would affect the resolution.... and or cause a lot of screens to scroll sideways.

I don't want to go into a lot of round robin argument about it. I shouldn't imagine it's rocket science to sort out... I'll leave it with you Ric.
Cheers...

Ric, I remember you had another colour scheme prior to this one for the forum.
My main browser is Mozilla/Firefox however when I open IE, I also get the scrollie thingie.  I only get it in the Forum, the rest of the site seems ok.

This probably happened when you changed your colour scheme to reflect the rest of the site ... track and changes back to that mate?

You probably have done so already but maybe check the IE settings for a syntax errors in "subsilver.css" (I think that's your new template?) if no joy there check for the same in: "formIE.css" and then "viewforum.php"

If no joy there call me?

Cheers,

Manfred.

Thank you Manfred.  I hadn't checked Internet Explorer's browser display which was a mistake on my part.  That piece of software is a heap of rubbish and is constantly causing problems for web developers because it just won't do as it's told and has to be hacked.  There was no reason for it to be doing what it did because the total.....mmmm....no point going into the technical issues I suppose.

I have recommended before and I say it again - if you want far better security on your internet browsing, less spyware and adware and less vulnerablity to intrusion, plus quicker browsing, download and USE Firefox as your browser.  This programme is used by those in the know.  I don't know a single web developer who doesn't use Firefox and it's because of all the problems caused by IE.

There is an icon at the top of each screen that you can click on and download Firefox.  It costs absolutely nothing to download and use, so why not upgrade to a far superior browser.

'mornin' Ric,

I have been using Microsoft Explorer/Optusnet as my server. When I went into the forum today (via Firefox) it is all honky dorie.
Thank you for the reply but I can cope with this OK without any scrolling or mucking about with settings etc.  or taking up any more of your valuable time. Your efforts in keeping the forum and the site in general on the air are much appreciated.

What ever trouble there was has been corrected and it no longer is necessary to scroll side ways . James

The problem was simply with Microshaft's Internet Explorer browser James.

They have caused more hair pulling than any other company in the history of the entire world.  I won't bore you with the technicalities.
