       I Do Wonder.
Some doubts, after the incident,
and the statement…Was it just?
Questions and the glaring lights…
Yet again, some more questions,
then theories and suggestions…
A final statement, yes, I agreed.

Did indictment, portray the fact,
or, a programmed connivance?…
Weary the mind, seeking respite.
Easy, a proffered idea, to adopt.
That solution, was not improbable…
could it be, I’d become confused?

Well, he was about that build…
Lived in the region, they said.
Yes, he did seem a mite familiar.
No, I didn’t think, I knew him…
but I did think he could  be guilty.
Someone had mentioned his name…

I do wonder, if it really was him…
He’d always proclaimed innocence.
They’re all innocents, aren’t they!
The jury convicted him, no doubts.
Wish, I was just a little surer now,
but, they say it must have been him …
