Hi thank you for letting me join.  I just wanted to say I read your poem about the horses from Earaheedy Station.  I grew up on Earaheedy Station, my stepfather was the manager there.  When we went to live there the people who were there before had let all horses go into the wild to fend for themsselves and my stepfather had round a few of them up so he and his two aboriginal Stockmen could break them in so they could use them for work around the station.
We went there in 1951.

 G'day Ianles,

Welcome to the site. Thank you for joining us to give a personal touch to a poem from one of our web mates. We sometimes presume that all the people who look in at this site are writers or reciters of Bush Poetry. We should remember that there are readers or listeners too. It is nice to know that 'others' read our work.

Hi Ian
It is good to hear from you.
I don't think there are too many horses left on Earaheedy now after the Outback heritage horse association rescued the ones they did - many of them died prior to that from thirst and hunger. However, the ones that were rescued are doing really well, have wonderful natures and are real good doers.
Do you know much of the history surrounding them?

Glad you are enjoying the site - do you write poetry also? If so, would be great to read some. But if not - enjoy!! You must have gone a long way back on the site to find that poem, as I posted it a couple of years ago.
