Just a little curious as to why, "Who wants to be Idle Rich?"

"Who wants to be Idle Rich?"
Sometimes I think, "Ol' Son, it's a bother, being rich",
everyone's hand is out, beset with a freeloaders' itch.
Fair weather friends, I've suffered them by the score,
and of sticky fingered advisors I want to see no more.
Con men, touts, and rogues, "I'll get you richer" coves,
fancy bimbos, or gold diggers, I've seen them in droves.
No indiscriminate consorting, no impropriety, is a rule,
and I did not get, where I am, by being another's fool.
Rub shoulders with the rich, in their tongues, converse?
I've been there, and done that, for better, or, for worse.
Not the sort of pathways, old bush lads seek to follow,
Life, devoid of honest toil, becomes just a trifle hollow.
What use is money as a yardstick for measuring success,
if used crassly to provide acquisitions, merely to impress.
I'd be a hypocrite if I changed…Convention, to appease,
flaunted affluence, is a waste…one cannot eat Prestige.
To be born rich, may present one a different perspective,
with one's station is assured to strive is not imperative.
A self made man is ill at ease, when one of the idle rich,
old habits die hard…and so it seems Life is still a bitch…
