G'day Mal,

I think I have sent some poems into the written section but it is to far for me at the moment.

I am consentrating on making sure I get to the Snowy Mountains of Music in June. You shoud see the line up. And they usually have three Poetry awards. A written, a performance and a very short poem. Gets a bit hard when you are competing with Lee Taylor-Friend who not only writes and performs really well but is a local too. There was an unknown (to us) young lady from Sydney, I think, who knocked 'em dead with an original poem about going camping, at the last festival. And the 'slam' short poem was won by a female bundle of energy who was over 80. (If I recall it accurately). It is on at Perisher/Smiggins on the June Long weekend. We sing in the snow to open the season.

G'day Jim,

This will be my 5th time I think. Love it. There is 8 in our group this year. Have you been to the lunch at Steinbrook Hall? What a blast! I don't compete, but this time I am thinking of getting up at the Poets Brawl as a way of starting myself off, so to speak. Chrissy and I can't get to Tenterfield til Friday so I will look out for you at Bling in the Bush. You will be able to spot us when you see my one legged mate hobbling around with me, the rotund Oldfart. I have a couple of entries in the written comp but, shudder, one of them I sent was a draft version. Sigh. Must learn to not finish things at the last moment!

Regards
