people wish their lives away
'if only' is there cry
not happy with the world today
they look, to times gone by

a time before technology
when folks talked face to face
computers were mythology
set in the age of space

no network of black bitumen
spread like varicose veins
the only form of transport, then
were lesiurely, steam trains

and what an even better place
we may live in today
if, in that cut throat 'power,' race
we'd harnassed the suns rays

hopefully folks will realize
on them, the world don't turn
and they'll make contact, eye to eye
perhaps their phones, they'll spurn

You're quick off the mark Therese.  Smiley   You will be pleased to know that I, for one, already spurn my phone.  Not on purpose though, it's just that it lives in the bottom of my handbag - usually with a flat battery.   Embarrassed  You have just reminded me to charge it.  Grin

.
i must admit, mobile phones are a pet hate!

they seem to foster such rudeness in the ushaving ers

i have no interest in hearing all the gory details of
the exploits of total strangers!

lol,  and don't even get me started on when people sit
and talk on the phone .... when they are supposed to be
having a cuppa with you   Angry
