    NIGHTMARE!

Awakened, to find a jumbled mind…
locked into a semi-conscious plane.
Entrapped in some surrealistic plot,
adrift within a world devoid of logic.

Trapped, caught in this alien scene,
so imprinted that one cannot erase,
the shadowy avenues, of confusion,
all leading, to no identifiable locale.

No sounds, nor any signs of motion,
in a maze, a frozen generated image,
of uninhabited, repetitive corridors,
starting nowhere…ending, nowhere.

Drifting, in a haze, of bewilderment,
a disoriented mind seeks for lucidity,
Time, belies brevity as seconds crawl,
wide eyes, probe surrounding gloom.

Touch and vision, identify surrounds,
reality returns, conjured images fade.
The mind although now rationalized,
lags briefly in Limbo seeking reasons.

A weary mind, declines to be retentive,
it etches not memory’s pages, to recall.
By the stark light of day, faded images,
with all night’s misgivings soon depart…
