Robbo: Talk-Back Radio.

I had sought a forum, a logical place, for topical debate,
not pollution of the ether, by what male bovines defecate.
A bastion for self opinion, within its ego flattering locale,
patently pathetic, was talk-back radio’s biased rationale.

A protected platform and self importance runs unfettered,
where the input switch ensures, the host is never bettered.
Click, the link is severed, that over ride button never fails,
a creature convenience, if rhetoric, cannot trip the scales.

Controversy is essential, perhaps this could be engineered,
sure, it’s all about those ratings the sponsors most revered.
Seems there may be some metered level, settled for dissent,
to broker interest and ensure a network dollar is well spent.

Too many hosts now display that attitude, bereft of courtesy,
few show courage of conviction, excuse, becomes formality.
A  place, where Life’s symphony is reduced, to tragic adagio,
Banality, lauded as social commentary, that’s talk back radio.
