Heyu.
TELL ME!
I'm with you on the VCR. This linking has REALLY become a bone of contention with me, how hard can it be?  Too hard for me evidently.

You wouldn't think my other job is a rocket surgeon.

Peace.

Mel,

Both links are correctly coded.  The trailing slash simply indicates that the link is relative to the root directory and is therefore unnecessary.  A link constructed in the manner you have done will always source the index.html file unless the site has a htacess file directing the browser to some other file on entry.

I am assuming you have loaded your page to a server somewhere to view so that you can access the links from there, or alternately are loading it into a browser to access the links from the page.

If you care to email me your raw code I will have a look at it for you.

Pete,

Egyptian hieroglyphics indeed mate.  Some blokes like tinkering with engines, but I love tinkering with computer code.  I'd forget the VCR too mate and go and buy a DVD.......  Cheesy  Cheesy

Er,er, Ric I think I'm about to say something embarrassing, I have been trying to get it to work on here and the other php site.
I have the feeling you're going to tell me I have been flogging the proverbial?

Heyu, do you do a bit of spannering? my brother in Queensland is well into the vintage donkeys, he rescued some old yoke from down a well quite recently.

I said did you check for snakes first, "Too right," says he, "there were loads of the bleeders."

Mel,
I went to see the old fellow who quoted the poem to me , he is now 81 , deaf as, and feeble. He thought the poem was by Henry Lawson, but says it not in his Lawson book, so maybe it was written by somebody else. let me know if you track it down.
See you, Keith.

PHP Bulletin Board sites don't use html unless they are set  up that way for users.  The code for posting a web site on a Forum is:-

["url=http://www.website.com]Website Name Here[/url"] Ignore the inverted commas, they are for presentation purposes only.

This is called BBcode

Mel,

I've edited my previous post to show the correct syntax.  What I had there displayed correctly, but the code was hidden.  It seems you have a handle on it now anyway.
