This is a little bit of light-hearted nonsense.
I’ll DIE WONDERING.
The wife has packed up and gone,
leaving me to ponder, why?
I know I am not wealthy,
but I’m still a handsome guy.
Always showered her with gifts,
like, a new rotary hoe,
a catcher for the mower,
why she’d leave, I do not know.
A new set of screwdrivers,
battery-operated drill;
new router and a sander,
to give the girl a big thrill.
A grinder with attachments,
and sets of fancy wrenches,
shadow board to hang them on,
even new workshop benches.
I am not the selfish type;
she does housework left alone.
Once I did think of helping,
But does it well on her own.
And all the things I taught her;
how to chop wood for the fire.
The log-splitter made it easy,
a sharp axe I did buy her.
Books on - How to paint a house,
and how to repair a car.
How to build a barbeque,
how thankless some people are!
She said that I did not get it,
cannot see the reason why?
I scratch my head in wonder,
I will ponder till I die.
