Hey Everyone just looking for an opinion on this ? I see a lot of Bush poets taking the stage these day dressed in what I call casual cloths and this seems to be a growing trend.

I just do not feel right if I do not have my poetry gear on especially my HAT !

Country shirt, Jeans and vest and boots is my normal attire. I think it sets the scene.

What does everyone think ?

Wish I could post some piccies as an example but if you want to have a look check my facebook page Australian Bush Poetry With A Passion.
I write because I can

Dress for the occasion is my opinion, Bob... One does not don a tuxedo when playing a round of golf, nor wear shorts and thongs in a high class restaurant. It’s paramount for any performer to be dressed in the appropriate attire, it goes a long way in adding to the touches needed for a professional and successful performance. I with you Bob, look the part Mate.

I don't think what you wear is that important , its what you are comfortable in , I have seen people who wear the whole vest , hat and guff that look as comfortable as a rhino in a tuxedo , others who wear it is if it is a natural extension of them . Its probably linked to the whole "Bush" in Bush Poetry , people think you have to look like a bloke from the land or an old pioneer or heaven forbid a bloke with a loud vest (yes Bob I know it has special significance to you) but I still couldn't see myself wearing anything of the sort . If your poetry is good and tells a story then wearing casual clothes you feel comfy in should be fine , its about the poetry not the props , well it should be in my opinion

I say what ever you feel comfortable wearing-so long as its neat and tidy.
