I’ve crossed the mountains
And the plains
Seen the dust storms
And the rains
Fire and flood
Good times and drought
Had some wins
Been down and out
I’ve seen some wise men
A lot more clowns
Had my share of ups and downs
I’ve been a shearer
Been a drover
Guess I’ve always
Been a rover
I’ve tried my hand at sewing bags
Cutting sleepers
Crutching dags
Milking cows
And carting hay
Cleaning ships
On Corio Bay
I’ve ploughed the paddocks
Picked the spuds
Met lots of good folks
Not many duds
I’ve picked the grapes
And bagged the onions
The end result
